Daily Prayer
Prayer is a gift from God. It’s a gift from God that is hard to regularly put into practice. Jesus gives to his disciples a template in the Lord’s prayer that can guide us into a deeper more personal relationship with God.
Dallas Willard writes, “Grace is not opposed to effort, it is opposed to earning.” Use these ideas for a renewed season of prayer in your life and maybe even new habits for life. Our hope is that these resources will help you in your journey with prayer.

Read and pray Psalm 95
Pray your meditations on scripture to GodMy God, Father, and Saviour, since you have been pleased to give me the grace to come through the night to the present day, now grant that I may employ it entirely in your service, so that all my works may be to the glory of your name and the edification of my neighbors. As you have been pleased to make your sun shine upon the earth to give us bodily light, grant the light of your Spirit to illumine my understanding and my heart. And because it means nothing to begin well if one does not persevere, I ask that you would continue to increase your grace in me until you have led me into full communion with your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who is the true Sun of our souls, shining day and night, eternally and without end. Here me merciful Father, by our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.
For many of us, silence is something we rarely experience anymore. So this may be really hard to do. In your office, car or at home practice a few minutes of silence before God.

Read and pray Psalm 103
Paraphrase the Lord’s PrayerMatthew 6:9-13
9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.Practice silence (5 min.)

Read and pray any Psalm
Confess and repent for sins of the dayO Lord God, now grant me the grace not only to rest my body this night, but to have my spiritual repose, in soul and conscience, in your grace and love, that I may let go of all earthly cares so I might be comforted and eased in all ways. And because no day passes that I do not sin in so many ways, please bury all my offences in your mercy, that I might not lose your presence. Forgive me, merciful Father, for Christ’s sake. And as I lay down in sleep to safely awake again only by your grace, keep me in a joyful, lively remembrance that whatever happens, I will someday know my final rising—the resurrection—because Jesus Christ lay down in death for me, and rose for my justification.
In his name I pray, Amen.
