No Divide - Acts

ACTS 9:32-11:18

In Acts 10 we see God lead Cornelius and Peter to a meeting where the gospel brings them together. This is difficult for Peter and the other Jews to understand, but after seeing Cornelius and his family respond to the gospel and receive the Holy Spirit they rejoice and prepare to accept this new multi-ethnic global church.

QUESTIONS

Read Acts 10 & 11:1-18.

What was one take away from this passage or the teaching that stood out to you?

In Acts 10:14 Peter has the Levitical law on his mind. Look up Leviticus 11 to see what Peter would be thinking about.

Was the law meant to help only Jews have a relationship with God? Look at these verses and see if they help you with your answer (Gen. 12:2-3, Isaiah 49:6, Psalm 86:9, 117:1,2).

In verse 17, it says that Peter was perplexed. Has there ever been a truth in the Bible that has perplexed you? What did you do?

What was behind the criticisms from those who heard about the gospel going to the gentiles (11:2)?

What can you do to help God’s vision for a multi-ethnic global church move forward?
