Explain the difference between “the world” in verse 15 and “the world” in John 3:16.
What is your standard for success? Or spirituality? How are your standards based on worldly values? In which way are they based on godly values?
As believers, we have all been anointed and have knowledge of the truth (verse 20-21). What resources have we been given for knowing and discerning truth? List the scriptures that support your answers.
What is the significance of belief in both the Father and the Son? What other verses speak of the relationship between the Father and the Son? (see John 12:44-45 and 13:20)
What things of the world do you find the most attractive and most likely to distract you from abiding in Christ? Can you relate to the ideas mentioned in Galatians 1:6-9 or Ephesians 4:14?
What disciplines do you follow in your daily life that encourage you to abide in the Son and in the Father?
