Promises in the Pain - Psalms

PSALMS 3

QUESTIONS

What are the ways David finds assurance in the Lord? (verses 3-5)

How can the practice of prayerfully acknowledging and thanking the Lord for assurances like these influence our everyday life?

Does David seem more concerned with his spiritual or physical situation? Do you find it easier to focus on physical or spiritual needs during prayer? Consider making a specific spiritual concern a part of your regular personal prayer time.

In verse 6, David writes that he will not be afraid. You can also read Romans 8:31-39 where we are assured that nothing can separate us from the love of God (and conversely that nothing we do can make him love us more). What is one area of your life where you need to be reminded of the assurance of your salvation and God’s love for you?
