From Death To Life - Ephesians

  1. How is life before Christ described (verses 1 to 3)?

  2. Do you agree with the description of one’s life without Christ? Is man really that helpless and desperate without God? Why?

  3. What motivated God to provide a way for us to be made alive in Christ (verses 4 and 5)?

  4. What encouragement do you find in the fact that God loved us “even when we were dead in our trespasses” (verse 5) and has “seated us with him in heavenly places” (verse 6)? What daily burdens does that free you from?

  5. How do you see God continue to show you grace on a daily basis?

  6. Believers are “created in Christ Jesus for good works” (verse 10). How does knowing this truth affect your daily actions and how you use your time?

  7. Has this passage helped clarify your need for Christ? Can you testify to God’s grace (verses 7 and 8) in saving you from the helpless state described in the beginning of the chapter? If you’re unsure about any of this, what questions do you still have? Take some time to share those questions with your missional leaders or another believer who is sure.
