The Hinge Point - Ephesians

  1. How is our “old self” characterized (verses 17-22)?

  2. In contrast, how is our “new self” described?

  3. How can you practically give grace to others this week by what you say (verse 29)? Specifically consider how you can take the truths of these verses to make some changes in your regular conversations with your co-workers, friends, spouse, neighbours, or children.

  4. Why is it necessary to understand that “God in Christ forgave you” (verse 32)?

  5. How does your experience and understanding of God’s grace in your life affect how you care for one another?

  6. Are there areas of your life where you find your heart is hardened or where you have become callous? Take some time to pray about those areas this week and ask God to work in your heart and lead you to scripture that will help you understand and experience God’s grace and truth so you can “put away falsehood” (verse 25).

  7. Have you grown in the practice of spiritual disciplines over your life as a Christian? What has or has not worked?
